NTRODUCTION |

The Federation of Scottish Aquarist
Societies consists of 13 Aquarist
Societies throughout Scotland who hold regular meetings and yearly
Open Shows, thus highlighting in the Scottish International Open
Show which incorporates the Scottish Champion of Champions with
an Open Show for both Senior and Junior fishkeepers.
The Scottish Federation was formed on the 18th of May 1958 at
the Queens Hotel Perth, 25 aquarists representing clubs from all
over Scotland met under the Chairmanship of Mr. Vasey the Perth
club President, and after a short humorous discussion in which
all were asked their views, it was unanimously agreed to form
"The Federation of Scottish Aquarist Societies". Now
the Federation consists of Aquarist Societies from Grangemouth,
Greenock, Perth, Mussleburgh, Linlithgow, Edinburgh, Glenrothes,
Glasgow, and Lanarkshire.
The Management Committee take to do with the day to day running
of the Federation and are elected at the end of every year at
the A.G.M. to carry out the duties for the following season.The
Federation has taken the Red "Siamese Fighter" as its
emblem, other Societies have Angel Fish, Livebearers, Catfish,
Cichlids, Rasboras and Characins etc. Every Society has their
own badge or emblem which are proudly worn by their members.

SHOW RULE CHANGES
Note 1: As from the new 2011
show season the size of tanks will be on the essence of your fish
being able to move around in comfort, and the previous rule of
10 x 10 x 10cm minimum size no longer apply's.
Note 2: As
from the new 2011 show season the rules state
that if you show as a Junior you must be in attendance at the
show to be able to collect your prizes or certificates.
