The Scottish Livebearers Group was originally an area group of the UK based livebearer group SLAG (Southern Livebearer Aquarist Group), and was thus a very strong group in its own right in Scotland. After the demise of SLAG the Scottish group changed its name to the Scottish Livebearer Group on the 22nd. May 1996. There were 12 people at the first meeting, most still have an interest in Livebearers but find it difficult to travel to Edinburgh for every meeting. A new badge was adopted and the meetings aranged for the first Tuesday of each month at the Pheonix Club, 1 Harrison Place, Edinburgh where they are still held.
